Nottingham - NG1
A private road linking Park Terrace and Standard Hill sweeps beneath the elevated ex-chapel of the General Hospital at this particular point. The chapel was added to the rest of the hospital in 1858 using plans drawn up by Thomas Chambers Hine (b.1814-d.1899). Hine was born into a prosperous middle class family in Covent Garden, moving to Nottingham in 1837.
Hine was also the architect for ... The sun blinds exist to protect diners using the up-market Hart's restaurant that now occupy the premises.

Now known as "Royal Standard House", these apartments - in what was previously the General Hospital Nurse's Home - sit alongside a private gated drive that links Park Terrace and Standard Hill. The Nurse's Memorial Home as it was known then was constructed as a monument to the deceased soldiers of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who gave their lives for others in World War I. It was opened by the Prince of Wales in 1923.

The arched entrance to Castle Grove as seen from Lenton Road. Within this secluded cul-de-sac are a small number of houses and flats, enjoying an even greater degree of privacy and tranquility, away from the main thoroughfare.
