Former woodyard
Once the site of Harry Adcock's sawmill and woodyard, these houses were built around the millennium. The nearest one is called 'Woodyard house', which feels a little like rubbing salt into the wound. The woodyard business is still functioning, at the old railway station.

Bulging wall
The site of the Catholic Church and Seminary at Corby Glen was surrounded with a sturdy stone wall, which is sadly in need of repair. The church closed in 2012, but little maintenance had been done while it was open. The wall does not retain anything: although the church and other buildings are raised up above the level of the road, the surrounding bank stops a couple of metres short of the wall so it is not particularly under stress.

Former Catholic Church
Built in 1856 using material salvaged from the demolition of a Catholic chapel in nearby Irnham, the church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was designed by architects Weightman, Hadfield & Goldie. The extensive site included a home for the priest, a school room and a graveyard. The church closed in 2012, and has stood unused since but work has now started on some sort of redevelopment.
