Chapel Lane, Croxton Kerrial
Mellow stone cottages on this narrow village street. Croxton Kerrial is one of several villages in the area which have the "..oxton" spelling but are pronounced softly. Thus Croxton is pronounced "Crowson".

Cottages in Croxton Kerrial
Ironstone cottages, very typical of this part of Leicestershire. These are just across the road from the churchyard. The lane leads northwards, towards Knipton.

To William and Margrett Hallam, d.1719. Double sided stone, the angel being on the reverse http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5183223. On this side the spelling is 'Margett', doubtless an error.

Belvoir Angel headstone, Croxton Kerrial churchyard
To William and Margrett Hallam, d.1719. Double sided stone, with the names repeated on the reverse http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5183220. This side is very awkward to photograph as the stone is titled at a very shallow angle.

Croxton Kerrial, Leicestershire
This village of ironstone cottages, substantial old houses and modern development is divided by the busy A607. The Church of St Botolph & St John the Baptist is on the north edge, almost in the centre of the square. Features of this half of the village to the north of the main road are the steep winding lanes and the small fields interspersed with houses.
