To the river
This path leads from Agnes Street through to the Witham riverside path. The buildings are part of the Riverside sheltered accommodation complex. There is a Soviet style bleakness here, barely mitigated by the summer, which I think shows an uncaring approach when it was built in the 1980s, not long after South Kesteven District Council was created. This is not brutalist architecture, but it is influenced by it, and can perhaps be called Functionalist. The area is illustrated here: https://granthammatters.co.uk/town-centre-street-before-new-developments/ before these homes were built.

A path by the river
The wall protects walkers from falling into the adjacent River Witham. This is not "the" riverside path, which is on the opposite bank, but is part of the Riverside sheltered accommodation complex.

Traffic Arch
Part of the Riverside complex, giving access to the car park. The blue plaque, which I failed to separately photograph, commemorates Lance Corporal Walter Parker who was born nearby. He was awarded the VC during the Gallipoli landings during the first world war. See https://www.granthamcivicsociety.co.uk/l-c-walter-parker-vc

Middlemore Yard Vicinity, Grantham, Lincs.
A view from a footbridge linking an area near the Sedgwick hall-of-residence (of Grantham College) with the Middlemore Yard residential area. The 281ft spire of St Wulfrum's Church is visible in the distance and the River Witham in the foreground. The riverside walk on the right is part of a long distance footpath/cycle route between Nottingham and Sleaford, although more locally Wyndham Park can be reached following a 25-35 minutes walk ahead. The grazing pasture behind the wooden fence is known as Sedgwick Meadows, a plot that was donated to the National Trust - with nearby Grantham House - by two sisters, the Sedgwicks, in the 40's or 50s. The modern, red-brick building is Grantham's Job Centre.
