Toll House, Wilford Toll Bridge, Nottingham

Statue by Wilford Bridge
The bridge was closed to motorised traffic in 1974 and has been rebuilt for pedestrian and cycle traffic only. The statue of the last male member of the Clifton family stands by the bridge. Sir Robert Juckes Clifton, Bart. MP died at the age of 99 on May 30, 1869.

Former Tollhouse, Wiford Bridge
The toll bridge opened in 1870 being designed by E. W. Hughes. http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-458930-wilford-bridge-toll-house-#.VUUS45PofTg It ceased to be used for collecting tolls in 1974. The main part of the bridge was rebuilt to carry pedestrians and cyclists only in 1980 but has recently been rebuilt again to carry the new tram line to Clifton.
