Platform art, Mansfield railway station
The design is the logo for the recently created Robin Hood Line http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Hood_Line and appears to be based on the old inter-city logo.

Mansfield Railway Station
The 1840s railway station is now a grade II listed building. It closed under Beeching in 1964 but reopened in the mid 1990s with the reopening of the Robin Hood line from Nottingham to Worksop. Removing the status of the largest population without a rail link. The line survived due to coal traffic although Kirby tunnel was infilled and had to be excavated. Now there is a good half hourly service from Nottingham, one going to Mansfield Woodhouse and the other continuing onto Worksop.

Station platforms, Mansfield
Looking towards Nottingham from the Down (Worksop) platform, showing that the platforms are slightly staggered, and that the facilities are better for passengers travelling towards Worksop than for those heading for Nottingham. Officially named simply "Mansfield", this station is often referred to unofficially as "Mansfield Town" (particularly by train guards) to differentiate it from Mansfield Woodhouse (the next station north of here). This is even reflected in the station's CRS code: MFT.
