River Smite at Whatton-in-the-Vale
Taken from the Whatton Bridge on the Old Grantham Road. There is a new bridge over the river and this one, which used to carry the main road from Nottingham to Grantham, now is just used by pedestrians.

Old Grantham Road
This became the 'Old' road after construction of the current A52 alignment avoiding the village, but was itself a replacement (sometime between 1930 and 1952) for the original road which is situated a little to the south.
