Morpeth floral clock
This is in Carlisle Park, on the south side of the river. This was the site of the medieval castle. The clock was built in 1972 and was recently restored in 2018. The clock was repaired by Smiths of Derby, the original makers. It was the gift of J F Smith of Detroit in recognition of his friend Alderman Bertram Jobson, a former mayor. It is one of only four in the country. Nice to see the floral display for King Charles III.

Morpeth Court House
A hugely imposing building 0f 1822, designed by the famous architect John Dobson. Designed to look as though it was part of a castle, it faces the site of the actual medieval castle, which stood across the road. Nothing of that building remains. The court house itself is now an apartment building.
