Kirkley Hall
Kirkley Hall was built as a country house in 1764 for the Ogle family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogle_family but largely rebuilt 1927-30 after a fire. There is a long pergola attached to front. The Kirkley Hall estate is now an agricultural campus for Northumberland College.

Lodge for Kirkley Hall, Thornyford
This building is part of the features of a landscaped park. Lodges would have allowed the selective access to the centre of an estate. These buildings were often specially designed in the latest Classical or Gothick styles.
