Harringay railway station, Greater London
Opened in 1885 by the Great Northern Railway on its line from London Kings Cross to Stevenage and Hertford. View south towards London. The bridge used to carry a much more substantial building. The more flimsy structure seen in this image, containing the booking office, was closed in early 2022 as "unsafe".

Ex-GN Ivatt 0-6-2T at Harringay
The great majority of these class N1 0-6-2Ts were fitted with condensing gear and worked in the London area, from King's Cross and Hornsey Depots on empty coach trains and on the countless cross-London exchange freight trains. Seen from the station at Harringay ('West' 6/51-5/71), No. 4583 was built 11/1911 as GN No. 1583, became LNER No. 4583 then in 1946 No. 9463 and survived as BR No. 69463 until 3/55. (Strangely, the prominent church behind seems to be no longer there).

Off to Bonny Scotland
The 12:00 'Highland Chieftain' departure from Kings Cross for Inverness accelerates through Harringay with HST power car 43290 taking the lead. Behind, a local service can be glimpsed. On the left, signal K412 on the up fast appears to be out which will result in delays to inbound Kings Cross services.

I always take old cars when I see them, you can see by the rust on this they don't last forever.
