244 at Henlys Corner
The 244 was a rush hour only service between Golders Green and Southgate via East Finchley and Muswell Hill from 1971, although a different version of the route ran before that date. Originally operated by single deck SMS's, Daimler Fleetline DMS52 was on the route in 1978. The route ceased operation in April 1982. Info from http://www.eplates.info/240s.html
This section of the North Circular Road hasn't changed much in the years since this photo was taken. The only major change was the closure and demolition of Henlys Garage, which gave the junction its name. Henlys was still open at this time and you can see the Shell signs on the left of the photo.

Queenborough Court on the North Circular Road
Henlys Corner was rebuilt in December 2011 to add a left filter here and turn to turn right from the east. To be honest it doesn't seem to have made the slightest bit of difference to the congestion during the busy times of the day.

102 at Henlys Corner
A Routemaster (RML2300) heads for the A1 with the 102 from Golders green to Chingford. In the background is Henlys Garage after which this junction was named. The building was demolished in 1989.

Road Closed
Police officers prevent traffic from entering the A406 eastbound at Henlys Corner. All traffic was being diverted along the A1, whilst vehicles trying to join from Tillingbourne Gardens were being asked to turn around. The eastbound carriageway was closed due to an accident on the bridge over Long Lane.

Express, Henlys Corner
A new Holiday Inn hotel built on the site of The Eagle public house. Although only completed recently, the wood already looks tatty.
