La D?livrance
Work of the French sculptor Emile Guillaume, the statue was gifted to Finchley by Lord Rothermere in 1927. Located just to the north of the A406 at Henlys corner, bus passengers wishing to get off at the adjacent stop would ask for 'the Naked Lady' when purchasing their ticket. Passengers travelling along the North Circular, on the other hand would ask for 'Henlys Corner'. The joys of Fare Stages, now a thing of the past. Finchley Synagogue is just visible in the trees to the right of the plinth.
