Pentland and Sub-Station
The Oakfield Drive entrance to Pentland Lakeland. Visible beyond the gate and between the trees is Finchley electricity sub-station. The Pentland site was once the location of Finchley's own electricity generating station.

Waiting for the lights
DLF84 on the 143 route to Brent Cross waits at the junction of Squires Lane and Long Lane on a bright spring afternoon. Behind, Squires Lane rises to cross over the Northern Line. The four nearest houses in the terrace may once have been shops, though the only evidence for this suspicion is the covered section above the front garden areas of each of them.
Metroline DLF84 is a Dennis Dart with Plaxton body.

Vineyard Grove
A narrow sidestreet off Squires Lane that ends at the boundary of Pentland Lakeside, UK headquarters of Pentland Brands PLC. Their main entrance is further along Squires Lane at the junction with Belfour Terrace. The name of the road is a reference to Claigmar vineyards which occupied the site from 1874 until 1903 when Finchley Electric Co. built a generating station here, (Information from Wikipedia). The number of cars parked here far outnumbers the houses, of which there are four. Some of them probably belong to people living on Squires Lane itself.

Attending an Accident
Aftermath of a collision at the junction of Long Lane and Squires Lane involving a Mercedes-Benz SLK and a Vauxhall Astra sees two paramedic vehicles attending. The paramedics were treating the injured inside Squires Estate Agents on the corner (out of shot) initially while awaiting ambulances to attend. The 143 and 382 bus routes were disrupted – 143’s were diverted along East End Road instead of using Squires Lane as normal though two buses (one of which can be seen) were trapped in the vicinity of the accident.

Long Lane
Seen at the junction with Squires Lane. The corner shop, now Long Lane Cafe, was once a newsagents / sweet shop. In more recent times it was a dry cleaner's before becoming a cafe circa 2014. Squires on the opposite corner used to be a bookmakers (William Hill, I think). The Plane Tree on the left has had a recent 'hair cut' as have the others on Long Lane.
