The Martin School
One of East Finchley's primary schools, the Martin School hides behind railings and is almost impossible to get a clear photo of. It's even less visible when the trees are in leaf!

Snow On The High Road
Cars and pedestrians are few and far between in the bad weather, though the bus services seemed to be running quite well. The Martin School opposite is closed - all the local schools were except for Holy Trinity in Eagans Close.
(There's always one snowflake that wants to ruin your day by sticking to the lens)

Leopold Service Station
The lights are on and trade is still brisk as dusk falls over East Finchley. The cars are waiting to turn onto the High Road from Church Lane.

Plane Tree Lane

Clearing The Forecourt
The garage man at the Leopold Service Station has a job for life removing the snow with that red plastic shovel. His repeated jabs with it are having very little effect! Business seems quite steady although the roads are still relatively quiet for a weekday.

Road Closed
A policeman stands guard at a road block following the closure of the High Road between Church Lane - on the right - and Oak Lane. The road was closed following a serious accident involving a pedestrian and a motorcyclist, to allow the police to carry out a full investigation. The road remained closed from 17:15 until 21:45 causing chaos with the rush hour traffic in the surrounding side streets.
