This used to be the Wimpy which was my local one, the pet shop was behind it, sometimes people wondered if there was any connection.

The Friday Morning Queue
Almost 9:00am and people are queueing outside the Post Office in East Finchley. In the foreground, flowerbeds populated with perennials and bicycle parking hoops provide some relief to the broad expanse of pavement. Amy's, behind the queue, is about to open and I'm off there next as I need a new kettle!

Camden Terrace - East Finchley
A block of shops on the High road, East Finchley. The hoarding on the sidewall of the off licence carries faded words advertising the sale of groceries, wines, spirits and bottled beers and stating that they are agents for Meux's & Thorne's. Clearly, usage hasn't changed much in the past. The gaudy modern shop fronts clash with the sober brickwork. Leicester road forms the junction on the right.

High Road, East Finchley
Parade of shops on the west side of the High Road (A1000). Most of the shops are not yet open. The balustrades have been removed from the roofline of some of the shops, presumably for safety reasons. Commuters march past on their way to East Finchley Station.

Lincoln Parade
On Lincoln Road, adjacent to the High Road in East Finchley. This small group of shops in a generally rundown condition are finally undergoing redevelopment. The shop fronts have been removed revealing previous ownership in the case of the closest. This was a small estate agents in its latter days, but was once Finchley Pet Stores. The 4th shop along was once a barbers - see Image It's a wet day and the workers can be seen sheltering inside the 5th shop.
