HSS Hire Shop, East Finchley
Located on the High Road. This was previously a Comet warehouse. Above the first floor windows the words Finchley Pantechnicon are etched into the stonework suggesting an earlier use as a removals and storage premises - the cobbled side entrance on the left leads to a yard behind the building which supports this conjecture.

Scribbles Nursery
Located on Hertford Road near the junction with the High Road. I believe this is the original East Finchley Baptist Church built on the corner of Hertford Road in 1889, though it sits about 30 yards back from the junction. A new, somewhat fancier, church was built on Creighton Avenue in 1902. Information from British History on Line.

Now in residential use, this distinctive building dates from 1902 (architects G. & R.P. Baines). The same architects were responsible for the replacement church built on an adjacent side in 1930.
