The Five Bells
A popular public house on East End Road. A couple of the patrons clearly decided to leave their cars overnight. The conservatory is a relatively recent addition to a pub that otherwise seems very traditional.

Weekend Line and Station Closures
That's the title of the email notifications sent out every Thursday by Transport for London to advise of planned engineering works. October 5th/6th and 12th/13th would see the High Barnet Branch of the Northern Line closed two weekends in a row for track replacement at Finchley Central and East Finchley. An extensive network of rail replacement buses was provided.
Battery locomotives L17 and L19 stand with a ballast train between Church Lane (the bridge in the distance) and Stanley Road awaiting their turn to provide fresh ballast to the works being carried out south of Stanley Road.
