Playing Fields beside Hampstead Lane
These fields are probably used by the local schools for various sports - on one occasion some years ago I witnessed archery practice in progress.

The Bishops Avenue
Viewed from the junction with Hampstead Lane. This Southernmost end is a popular parking spot for visitors to Kenwood House and Hampstead Heath. Spaces are at a premium on this hot spring Saturday.

Bench on The Bishops Avenue
Bishops Avenue is a strip of East Finchley surrounded by Highgate and Hampstead Garden Suburb. I presume there was a good reason for putting it all in N2 but am not aware of it. For those interested in such details The Vale in nearby NW11 sticks out in the same way into Cricklewood either side of it. Highgate School fields are behind the railings.

Parking on Hampstead Lane
A warm spring Saturday. Parking along Hampstead Lane is a popular choice for those visiting Kenwood House and Hampstead Heath. The sign on the lamp post warns motorists that thieves operate in the area.

Affordable Housing Apartments Being Built on Cannons Close
This is one of two apartment blocks crammed onto a tiny plot on the corner of Cannons Close and The Bishops Avenue. So squashed in are they that they appear to have hardly any garden. This is the rear of Eliot House (2015). The apartments have now been completed and three of them are currently (January 2018) for sale for £5.5M, £6.5M and £10M

Pre-Worboys speed limit Bishops Avenue
I discovered all 12 40mph repeaters along here are pre-Worboys, and 8 were the very rare ones with raised characters like this one.
