The Lion, Stoke Newington
1930s Truman's pub on the corner of Lordship Road and Church Street - formerly The Red Lion hence exterior tiles panels featuring said beast.
However there was a pub of this names on the north side of Church Street as far back as 1697. As a main thoroughfare into London Stoke Newington was well-endowed with drinking places.

The Lion, Stoke Newington
The owners of this pub at the southern end of Lordship Road claim that the building dates from the 18th century, in which case it would predate Stoke Newington's development as a Victorian suburb. The pub has been known as The Lion for about six years; before that it was the Stoke Tup.
