1930s Truman's pub on the corner of Lordship Road and Church Street - formerly The Red Lion hence exterior tiles panels featuring said beast. However there was a pub of this names on the north side of Church Street as far back as 1697. As a main thoroughfare into London Stoke Newington was well-endowed with drinking places.
