Pymme's Brook, Palmers Green, London N13
One of London's lesser-known watercourses, Pymme's Brook (for the most part culverted to prevent flooding) flows from Hadley Wood to the River Lee Navigation in Tottenham: seen here from the Green Lanes road bridge at Palmers Green. The building on the right is Palmers Green Baptist Church.

Old sign on Pymmes Brook bridge, Green Lanes
This has not only survived but been repainted quite recently. Originally these signs were not issued nationally as they were after the 1930s, but individually by local councils, this being an official county bridge as well. Interestingly although some were located facing the traffic many like this were set on the bridge itself, meaning most of the little traffic passing in those days may well not notice them. And they would certainly have needed to stop to read them as the print is far too small to read while moving.

A406 North Circular Road
The Bowes Road section of the A406 on the approach to the junction with Green Lanes. Major changes haven been made to the road layout here in 2011/12 to widen the carriageway and improve the throughput of traffic at a well known bottleneck. The work has nearly been completed in this shot. The houses across the road date to circa 1900. Houses on the north side of the road (right hand side of the photo) were demolished circa 1970 to allow for an earlier road widening scheme - There is currently ongoing debate about demolitions of houses and business premises to the west of The New River and the Hertford Loop railway line in order to carry out further road improvements.
