Islington : former Preston Memorial Hall, Florence Street
Preston Memorial Hall was built in 1906 (and officially opened on 12 February 1907) to the designs of architect Howard Chatfeild-Clarke, son of Thomas Chatfeild Clarke, who in 1862 built the Unity Church, to which the hall was attached. The church (Unitarian) destroyed in 1940, and subsequently re-built.

Old Parr's Head, Islington
This former pub on the corner of Cross Street and Upper Street has now turned into a branch of Jigsaw, a fashion chain. Sadly lunches are no longer offered daily, only women's apparel. Old Parr was a Shropshire man who supposedly lived to 152.

The Grand Union, Islington
The curved window of this listed pub building on Upper Street gives a curious reflection of the street and a passing bus. The name 'Grand Union' has nothing to do with Islington's canal; the establishment is one of a chain of pub/burger bar/cocktail bar/nightspot hybrids.
