The Tally Ho at Tally Ho Corner, North Finchley
Tally Ho Corner obtains its name from where in the 1820s and 30s the Tally Ho Coach Company kept horses that were used for the first change of horses for the Birmingham mail coach. The Tally Ho pub was built in 1927 on a wedge-shaped plot where Ballards Lane in the west meets the High Road (Great North Road) in the east. It replaced the Park Road Hotel on the same site. Local Information
An electronic information terminal set into a continental style advertising hoarding at the apex of the triangle created by Ballards Lane and the High Road - on the right. The terminal doesn't work and I didn't think we got that many tourists in North Finchley anyway. Autumn House, across the road, is a drinking establishment on the corner of Stanhope Road.

Buses at The Tally Ho
North Finchley is the terminus for a number of bus routes including the 134 which parks between journeys outside the Tally Ho public house. Here we see three of them awaiting their turn. Typically, it was the one in the middle that was due away first.
