An Arriva bus on route 221 weaves its way onto Ballards Lane having just exited the bus station under 100 Kingsway (the building on the right). It will swing right at this set of lights, taking the road on the left of the photo.

Entrance to the Arts Depot
The Arts depot in North Finchley was built on the site of the old Bus Station and Gaumont Cinema. The cinema originally opened in 1937 - information supplied by Tony Laurence who was present at the opening. As well as the amenities advertised, there is a new enclosed bus station, shopping area (unoccupied - at this time) and flats.

Finchley war memorial and United Services Club
The main part has no names: they are on tablets to right and left. The gates in front of the memorial have 'St Kilda' on them in what appears to be slightly wonky weld bead on steel plate. This name seems to be associated with the club, possibly the original name of the house.

This was built a few years ago as the ground floor of the Arts Depot theatre with shops on the ground floor and flats above, and on the site of the old Gaumont Cinema.
