Ruined steading, Newhouse
A ruined farm (with very intact and tidy farmhouse) which has planning permission for yet more expensive houses. No sign of development. Taken from the shelter of the caravan park sign which had a roof. The rain was very heavy.
The A70 was closed for resurfacing.

Tar lorries
The A70 was being resurfaced and was closed. Fortunately at this time rain was falling heavily so at the price of a soaking I was able to sneak through and avoid a long diversion on very busy roads. The lorries are waiting for the old surface to be removed.
The bridge here is over the Glasgow to Carlisle railway.
