The bridge is finished
The new dual carriageway A249 bridge across the Swale to the Isle of Sheppey was opened to traffic in June 2006 but there is still some tidying up to do on the construction site. These pipes supported the piers around the concrete stanchions while they were being constructed. See close-up http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/201141

Exterior of Swale station
Swale is one of the least used stations in the country. It is dwarfed by the viaduct of the Sheppey Crossing and surrounded by desolate marshland and the waters of the Swale.
