Railway bridge, Church Lane
This low bridge, and narrow country lanes beyond, prevent large vehicles from easy access to the north side of Newington. The railway is the main line from London Victoria to East Kent.

Cottages in Church Lane, Newington
These cottages stand on the east side of Church Lane, and were built in the mid 1800's. There were originally four cottages in the terrace with steps, though one pair have been converted into a single dwelling. The plaque in the centre of the upper floor of these cottages reads "Widows Home".
