Mount Ephraim Gardens, Staplehurst, near Hernhill
An avenue of topiary, viewed from the rose garden, to the rear of Mount Ephraim House, which is a Grade II listed building rebuilt from a 17th century house in 1878. The Dawes family have owned the estate for over 300 years and it covers 800 acres. The gardens extend to 10 acres in the estate and were laid out in the early 1900s and restored by Mary and Bill Dawes from the early 1950s. Mary Dawes died in 2009 aged 93.

The house is a Grade II listed building rebuilt in 1878 from a 17th century house. The gardens were laid out in the early 1900s and restored by Mary and Bill Dawes from early 1950s. Mary died in 2009 aged 93.

Mount Ephraim has been in the Dawes family for over 300 years and the estate covers 800 acres. The garden is a small part extending over 10 acres.
