Rochester: the end of Two Posts Alley
This short alley from the High Street emerges onto Castle Hill and, with the possible exception of some double-yellow lines, provides us with a view of the castle which has probably been unchanged for many, many decades. There is a post at the other end of the alley too, so its name is quite apt.

Rochester: 44 High Street
A listed building in both senses of the word, originating in the 16th century and leaning significantly towards its neighbour across Two Posts Alley. See Image for a close-up of the door and Image for a view from along the alley.

Rochester: Two Posts Alley arrives at the High Street
A short alley between the castle and the High Street, named presumably because it has a post at each end - although that can hardly be unusual for an alley! On the right we see Image] from the rear, and can appreciate how much it leans to the west.

Salisbury Villa, Epaul Lane
It is a grade II listed house, which dates from the early 19th century but possibly incorporates earlier work. It is weatherboarded throughout and has lead roofs. The low brick wall with recessed panels, stone plinth and coping, curved to either side of the central doorway, is included in this listing. https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101299662-salisbury-villa-with-attached-wall-to-front-rochester-west-ward#.W4Go7f6Wzcc In this view, it appears that the left hand side of the brick wall has been rebuilt and a man is applying mortar between the brickwork.
