Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester
This was taken beside the Fort retail park looking towards Manchester. Another, smaller, shopping area is on the opposite side of the road.
On the horizon, the tall thin building is the Co-operative Insurance Society offices, and the shorter, fatter one on the right is the Arndale shopping centre with flats above the shop levels.

Manchester Irish Festival Parade, Piccadilly Rats
The Piccadilly Rats are street entertainers usually found entertaining shoppers in the Piccadilly area (http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/piccadilly-rats-tune-success-man-5395840 for more information). During the parade, they could be heard playing and singing on one of the floats.
