Shudehill Tram Station
Metrolink tram 1003 waiting at the tram stop at the Shudehill Transport Interchange. 1003 is one of the first batch of T68 trams delivered in 1992. Unlike the others in the 10xx and 200x series, which carry the old blue, white and grey livery, 1003 has been repainted in the newer silver and yellow colours. It also carries full height bodyside adverts for Manchester Christmas Markets in maroon (presumably this is only temporary for the Christmas season).

Metrolink Tram at Shudehill
Shudehill interchange is a major transport hub situated a few hundred yards south of Manchester Victoria station in the city’s Northern Quarter. It comprises a Metrolink stop and a bus station. The tram platforms at Shudehill opened on 31 March 2003 and the full interchange opened on 29 January 2006 http://www.lrta.org/Manchester/city_centre.html . The tram stop has two platforms, for inbound and outbound services. In this photograph, Bombardier M5000 tram number 3064 is about to depart from the outbound platform. It is on a Sunday-only service from Ashton-Under-Lyne to Manchester Victoria Station

Manchester Metrolink tram 1006 at Shudehill stop, Manchester
One of the first batch of trams for Metrolink, which opened the system in 1992. It is seen on the route to Piccadilly Station from Bury and has stopped at Shudehill stop. These Class T68 trams were built by Firema in Italy in 1991-92. Like the rest of the class they were all withdrawn a few years ago. A few have been preserved but this one appears to have been scrapped.

Social Distance Markers at Shudehill
Following the initial "stay-at-home" response to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_coronavirus_pandemic_in_the_United_Kingdom , preparations were made for a partial "return to work" as more workers in "non-essential" occupations were taken off the furlough scheme and retail businesses were allowed to re-open from 15th June. Commuters were urged to avoid public transport and walk, cycle or drive where possible. For those who had no alternative to public transport, yellow spots were painted on Metrolink platforms to reinforce the "keep 2 metres apart" rule. In the city centre, such as here at the Shudehill Interchange, these discs had messages on them such as "stand well clear" (Image]) and "please keep a safe distance" whereas at the outlying stations (such as Image]) the markings were just plain yellow circles.
