Back Entry, Patricroft, Eccles
In the 1960's (when I was a lad!!) these back entries were tidy and well used. People used to walk up and down them. The Dustbin Wagon used to come down the one behind the street where I grew up, not too far from here!

Alexandra Road, Eccles
Looking down Alexandra Road towards its junction with the A57. Most of the terraced houses here date from circa 1870 and houses on adjacent streets are separated by cobbled alleys (also knownn as back entries or simply entries. See
Image ). Now most houses here have one or more associated cars and consequent parking difficulties!
