The Lamb Hotel, Eccles
Built in 1906 as a replacement for an earlier pub of the same name, it belongs to the Manchester based Holt's Brewery. An ornate building in red brick and terracotta. Listed Grade II.

The Eccles Cross
Built in buff terracotta and brick, this fine building opened in September 1920 as the Regent Cinema. It closed as a cinema in 1962, becoming unsurprisingly a Bingo Hall. It lasted in this guise for only 4 years before lying empty until 1983 when it became a wine bar, and later a night club. In 1999 it re-opened as a Wetherspoons pub under the name The Eccles Cross, the original of which had once stood close by.

Manchester Metrolink - the approach to the Eccles terminus
Ahead is the last stop, Eccles, on the Eccles branch of the Manchester Metrolink. It is adjacent to Regent Street. The system uses high-floor trams, because much of its routes use converted railways (the Eccles line being an exception). This means that the platforms at the tram stops are quite high, but they have ramps to assist wheel-chair users and other people with restricted mobility. Image; Image

Regent Street
Looking down the former A57 main road into Eccles from the end of ramp leading to Metrolink Station. Since the A57 was diverted around the centre of town, Regent Road is now unclassified. On the left is the grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1084301 Lamb Hotel built in 1906 for Holt's Brewery. A classic red brick and terracotta design in 1994 CAMRA declared it a pub with a nationally important historic interior http://pubheritage.camra.org.uk/pubs/historic-pub-interior-entry.asp?NatPubID=MAN/9933&Detail=full
