King Street Christmas Market
The Christmas markets first arrived in Manchester in 1998, when the council of Frankfurt hosted a small traditional German market of just 17 stalls in St Ann’s Square.
Now an annual event, the 2011 Christmas Market has an array of over 200 stalls spread across Albert Square, Brazenose Street, King Street, St Ann's Square, New Cathedral Street, Exchange Square and Piccadilly operating from 17th November to 21st December.
This view shows the corner of King Street and Cross Street.

Manchester, Mr Thomas's Chop House
On Deansgate, backing onto St. Anne's Square. An uncommon remaining example of a city-centre Victorian eating and drinking establishment. Externally, covered in terracotta tilework, and internally with glazed tile walls. Listed by Historic England (Grade II). Five cask ales on offer at my visit. http://tomschophouse.com/

Manchester Flower Show, Call of the Wild
The 2021 Manchester Flower Show took place between 29 May and 6 June. It was the city’s first major event after re-opening in mid-May following the national Coronavirus lockdown. The show featured a city-wide trail of floral displays and green installations.
Call of the Wild was created by David Jayat-Laraffe of Frog Flowers. Based on the iconic red telephone box, the installation was sited at the corner of King Street and Cross Street.
