New housing for old in Benchill
From around 1946 to 1956 I lived in a house at this spot. On visiting it recently, I was told that the current houses had been built about sixteen years ago. Ours was the left-hand end of terrace, and the current one is still number 17. These new ones undoubtedly have all mod cons, but I doubt that they are any bigger than the one I lived in.

Pizza Perfect & Premier convenience store, Hollyhedge Road, Wythenshawe, Manchester
On the left is Pizza Perfect at No. 156, a pizza & kebab takeaway which also offers free delivery. On the right at Nos. 152-154 is Sunny's Convenience Store, a member of the Premier franchise. Premier are owned by Booker, whom Tesco are currently hoping to take over.

Manchester Metrolink tram No. 3092 in Hollyhedge Road, Wythenshawe, Manchester
This tram, which was delivered to Metrolink on the 22nd November 2014 and entered service on the 3rd December, is passing some shops in Hollyhedge Road. It is en route to Cornbrook, which at the time this photograph was taken was the city centre terminus for the Manchester Airport line. It is one of the current fleet of 120 M5000 class trams built by Bombardier and delivered between 2009 and 2016. Metrolink's fleet of trams and its system are both, at the time of writing, the largest in the UK.
