Development alongside Chester Road.

A group of three early C19th houses. They are not listed which might be because beyond the facades little of the original fabric survives. They were offices, known as St George's House, but have since fallen into disuse and been boarded up (2023).

Former textile mill consisting of two plain four-storey ranges. Mostly, if not entirely, empty at the time, it is, like everything else, scheduled for conversion to flats (2023).

The Church of St George on Chester Road, near to the Mancunian Way junction, was a Commissioners' church, built between 1826 and 1828 and restored in 1884. St George's closed as a place for religious worship in 1984. Designated a Grade II* listed building, this grand building was eventually converted for use as residential apartments in 2000-2. 215-219 Chester Road is the offices of Charted Accountants Beever and Struthers http://www.beeverstruthers.co.uk/aboutus Their address is listed as St George's House - not to be confused with St George's House, Peter Street Image However the name above the door is St George's Court which appears to be the name also given to one of the high-rise blocks of apartments on Angela Street which is just visible in the background.

The Dot Cycle and Motor Manufacturing Company was established in 1903 by in Salford by Harry Reed, a maker of pedal cycles. By 1906 they had built their first motorcycle and re-located to larger premises in nearby Manchester. The company ceased manufacturing motorcycles in 1932 and survived through contract engineering work until motorcycle production resumed again in 1949. Dot bikes had some success in racing and the company was particularly well-known for its range of lightweight scrambles and trials bikes but by the late 1960s, small companies like DOT found it increasingly difficult to compete against the large Japanese mass producers, spelling the end of large scale production at the Dot factory. The Dot factory building survives on Ellesmere Street, opposite Image], in Hulme. The company produces and sells a range of spares for postwar machines. The Dot Motorcycle Club actively caters for owners and enthusiasts, publishes a magazine, and attends most major classic motorcycle events.
