57 Dale Street, Manchester
Fine old warehouse, built 1913, with modest Baroque references. Iron framed, the main front clad in faience, but round the corner the red brick shows that elsewhere expense was spared. The white building behind was a later extension. Grade II listed. Above the ground floor are inscribed the words, "FRED W. MILLINGTON LTD". It has been converted into flats.

"A treat, making the most of its narrow frontage with a lively terracotta facade sporting a curved oriel and giant Composite pilasters and a segmental pediment", wrote Pevsner. Aka Langley Buildings, 1909 by R. Argile. Grade II listed. Like many of these warehouses it occupies an island site so as to facilitate access to its loading bays. It now has a new lease of life as flats.
