The former warehouse is a Grade II listed building https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1271452 The ground floor has been home to Reuben Wood hairdressing https://www.reubenwood.co.uk/stevenson-square/ for several years but the upper floors have been vacant. It is now undergoing renovation.

Another photo-realistic mural by celebrated street artist Akse P19 in Manchester's Northern. This one, in Little Lever Street just off Stevenson Square, was created for the "50 Windows of Creativity" art trail in October 2020. Celebrated Manchester-based street artist Akse_P19 working on his contribution to the "50 Windows of Creativity" trail which begins next week. Excellent mid/late-C19th warehouse, although in its reticence it is more Georgian than Victorian. Above a rusticated gritstone ground floor it is almost entirely red brick, with moulded windows grouped vertically in segmental arches. Grade II listed. Now known as Rutland House, and at least partly occupied by clothing wholesalers, providing a connection of sorts to its likely original purpose.

The nightclub Image is on the corner of Stevenson Square, Little Lever Street and Hilton Street. The shop next door used to be "Fit to Dance" Image but the business has moved to premises on Port Street.

With Oldham Street closed to buses due to a fire Image there are extra bus services using the square as their Manchester terminus. The roof of the old underground toilets on the right appears to be undergoing repairs. They are used now as a showcase for street artists with works being replaced roughly every three months. You can't catch a bus from Stevenson Square now. With restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown in force eating inside pubs and restaurants is not allowed. However you are able to gather outside to eat. Almost the whole of Stevenson Square has been covered with table and chairs. As I understand it though you can't just turn up unannounced and find a space. You have book an up-to-two-hours slot and order your meal in advance. Bad luck if you'd booked the day before when it was raining heavily all day.
