Leighton Lock
New gates installed in 2021. The new gates are handmade in traditional oak and cost around £50,000. The pair combined weigh an estimated total of nine tonnes.

Leighton lock, Grand Union Canal, 1968
Narrow boats only need one gate open to enter a broad lock, which saves time and effort getting to the other side of the lock to open and close gates.
