Dunstable: westward on Church Street (A505) at site of former Dunstable Town station, 1990
Ahead is the ex-GNR line, to the left from Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City via Luton to Dunstable Town (just to the right), then on almost to Dunstable North station, which was ex-LNWR and the terminus of the LNW branch from Leighton Buzzard. Both Dunstable stations closed to passengers 26/4/65, but goods Hatfield - Dunstable North remained until 9/10/67. By 1990, the disused line over the bridge was probably converted to a footpath, prior to subsequent demolition and replacement of the bridge, for the Luton Airport - Houghton Regis Guided Busway opening in 2013. Dunstable: The end of the line
The end of the remaining trackwork on the Luton to Leighton Buzzard railway just north of the site of the former Dunstable Town station at the A505 road bridge. West of here the track has been mainly lifted. There are plans to utilize the trackbed for the Luton Dunstable Translink system which will use special buses capable of running both on their own track and on public roads.

Dunstable: Disused railway near the former Dunstable Town station
Viewed looking northwards towards the site of the former Dunstable Town railway station, which was demolished when the Luton to Leighton Buzzard line closed for passenger traffic in 1965, the trackbed may be utilized by the proposed bus-operated Luton - Dunstable Translink system.
