28 and 26 Kelsall Road, Burley, Leeds, 1981
Back to back terraced housing on Kelsall Road in the Burley area of Leeds. Image taken in 1981. Number 28 is the house on the left nearest the camera with number 26 next door. The houses on the back of this row have since been demolished, but this side survived. The outdoor privies have been demolished and are now a community garden with storage space for bins.

Many terraced houses now have additional security in the form of grills that shut over the doors. This one in Burley Lodge Terrace has been decorated with the house number.

Rape on Burley Road
Oil seed rape is in flower all over our countryside in May, but seems to have spread to the inner city as well. I walked past this without thinking about it, but then got the distinctive smell so turned back to take the photo.

Burley Road - House repairs
Scaffolding covers many of the houses along Burley Road from this corner with Woodsley Road to Cardigan Road. Presumably all owned by the same landlord, probably the city council. Notice that the satellite dishes have been fixed to the outside of the scaffolding.
