The end of Vickers Avenue
There is no way through this dead end to the newer development behind (Beech Tree Avenue). If the developments were contemporary, there probably would be.

View into the CITU development
This image shows the nature of the site, on a narrow strip of ex-industrial land, slightly widened by battering back the uphill slope. One of three photos taken when the public were allowed into the site for one day for viewings. As construction is not yet complete, it is normally still out of bounds and we had to be accompanied by a developer's representative.

Houses on Kirkstall Avenue
This pair of late 19th or early 20th century houses is older and larger than most of the housing in the area - they first appear on the 1908 map along with the terrace beyond, and a few other properties nearby.

Vacant site off Wyther Lane
Until a couple of years ago this site alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal contained a couple of derelict industrial buildings. After a tragic fatal accident involving children trespassing on the site, the buildings were demolished. Planning permission has been granted for a housing development but work has not yet started.

Construction site on Wyther Lane
Eagle eyed locals had spotted that the development contractor had recently felled trees on this site in contravention of planning conditions. Not that much can be done about that. But it does give a clearer view of the site from across the canal.

Construction starts off Wyther Lane
Planning permission was granted in 2018 by Leeds City Council for "Demolition of existing industrial & manufacturing units and erection of 51 new residential dwellings". Demolition happened some time ago but the next phase of groundworks has just started.
