Leeds Corporation Electricity Department sub-station
The rectangular block-shaped building above the vehicles is an electricity sub-station erected by the long-gone Leeds Corporation Electricity Department. With magnification, the initials will be seen on the door lintel. (A close-up is shown at another photo in this square.) The contractors' fencing is being erected for the long-promised redevelopment of this site close to Leeds Market and the sub-station will shortly disappear forever.

Leeds Corporation Electricity Department sub-station (former)
The pile of rubble is what remains of the former Leeds Corporation Electricity Department sub-station, now demolished to make way for development. Inquiry of the site guard was unable to determine the fate of the Department's initials on the stone above the door lintel which can be seen in another photo for this square.

Stairwell, Victoria Gate shopping centre
The shopping mall that opened in 2016 is upmarket, featuring John Lewis and other premium stores. Even this stairwell leading to the toilets and other facilities is classy.
