.Morley Town Hall, Queen Street
Morley is no longer a separate Borough, its functions having been taken over by Leeds City Council, but the Town Hall is still used as Council offices.
Built in 1892-5, architect George Fox of Holtom & Fox of Dewsbury. Fox was late Mayor of Dewsbury and one of 13 local dignitaries later commemorated in stained glass inside the building. The Town Hall is now Grade I listed (entry 1135112) as "A fine town hall by a local architect incorporating several features from other earlier West Riding town halls".

The Town Hall, Morley
The architects were the partnership of George Arthur Fox and Henry Holtom of Dewsbury who won the prestigious competition to design Morley Town Hall following Morley’s attainment of borough status in 1885. The style is neoclassical and incorporating other styles. It was opened in 1895 and is Grade I listed.

Buses on Wellington Street, Morley
While most buses serving Morley town centre have stops on Queen Street, a few services use a pair of stops on Wellington Street alongside the town hall (right). Here, two First Leeds Volvo B9TL/Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini double deckers, both sporting First's new livery, wait time before heading into Leeds. The nearer one will get there via Cottingley and Holbeck, while the further one will take a more direct route via Churwell, and then continue north of the city centre through Meanwood to Moor Allerton. The stone setts that constitute the surface of Wellington Street appear to be coping well with the weight of buses.
