Tour de France, the Riders 1
I was taken by surprise as the riders arrived. We were only 5km from the start of racing (at Weardley see Image]) I expected that the riders would still be bunched in the peloton. But 3 riders had already broken away and here we see Nicolas Edet of the Cofidis team in the lead, with Benoit Jarrier and Jens Voigt behind him.
So, not the best photo, and obscured by my daughter's blond hair.

Waiting for the Tour de France 1, a grey start
We were ready and waiting by 9am, expecting the riders to pass us just after 12. It was a rather grey start to the morning, after overnight rain, but the weather was already improving.

Pleased to see a Yorkshire product in the Caravan.
As well as the Yorkshire Tea vehicle, a nearby souvenir stall was giving away samples of Yorkshire Thé

Waiting for the Tour de France 2, sunny now
By 11:15, the weather had improved and the road was drying out. A bit less than an hour before the riders arrive. The publicity caravan has all gone past, just waiting for the exciting part.
