New Road Side, Horsforth, New Year's Day 2015
Looking from the corner of Sunnybank Road across New Road Side to the junction with Clarence Drive.
It is very rare to see no traffic on New Road Side, lunchtime on New Year's Day is very quiet.
The nearest shop, Clarkes Independence Centre sells (and rents) equipment for people with disabilities.

Carpet Shop and Funeral Directors, New Road Side, Horsforth
Joseph Geldart and Sons, whose sign says they were established in 1880. On the north-east side of New Road Side, between Featherbank Lane and Sunnybank Avenue. Looking north-west along New Road Side.
The building occupied by KD Carpets was previously the showroom and garage of Renault Horsforth (I bought a Renault Scenic there in 1999).
Joseph Geldart and KD Carpets were still in these premises in 2021, 15 years after this photo was taken.

Four Gables, Clarence Road, Horsforth
In 2006 this was the Yorkshire Regional office of the Barnado's children's charity. In the 1940's and 1950's it was a maternity home. It closed after 2015 and the building was demolished. By 2020 the site was being redeveloped with new houses, called Aubretia View.

Back Clarence Road, Horsforth
Looking across New Road Side at this short road of back-to-back houses. The other halves of the back-to-backs have addresses in Clarence Road. One of these houses has the unusual distinction of being the first house in which shares were traded on the Opromark web site. (Opromark's website http://www.opromark.com/ is now a Chinese website (in 2021), so I suppose it has ceased trading in the UK).
