A contemporary bar rather than a pub, the name perhaps influenced by the successful 'Foot Asylum' chain of shoe shops.

Yorkshire House, Greek Street, Leeds
A 1960s office block consisting of a slab facing East Parade above a curved podium and a long range behind occupying more than half of the block between Greek and Bedford Streets. The curve is an unusually frivolous touch.

Former County Fire and Provident Life Association and East Parade Chambers, East Parade, Leeds
The Italianate insurance building on the left dates from c1870. It is crowned by a massive statue of Britannia and a lion. Grade II listed.
The Chambers dates from 1899 and is clad in yellow faience. The purple colouring of the oriel windows is probably not original, but I like purple so I'm not complaining. Grade II listed.

One of the many interesting 19th century office buildings in Leeds city centre. This one, dated 1899 and originally built for the National Fire Assurance Company, is grade 2 listed (list entry 13753590).

Lunchtime on Greek Street
Greek Street had been pedestrianised before the Covid-19 pandemic, and now that restaurants are fully open and office workers coming back, it's getting busy at lunchtime again. Image shows it some years earlier before pedestrianisation.
