The Italianate insurance building on the left dates from c1870. It is crowned by a massive statue of Britannia and a lion. Grade II listed. The Chambers dates from 1899 and is clad in yellow faience. The purple colouring of the oriel windows is probably not original, but I like purple so I'm not complaining. Grade II listed.
