With the post box outside, this must have been the post office until recently. Now a 'deli', which is the type of shop one would expect in an upmarket commuter village.

Kirklands, Carr Lane, Thorner
The name as well as the architectural form of this block of apartments gives away its ecclesiastical origins. Built 1876-78 by C E Danby as a Methodist church, it was already described as redundant when listed grade II in 1984 (list entry 1265240). The gabled extension to the rear was the Sunday school; Image shows the front of the church, facing the road.
