Mount Panels (Elmfield Mill), Bramley
Elmfield Mill was a woollen mill. In the days of steam it was powered by a 250hp tandem compound engine by Pollitt and Wigzell, 1890 (source: http://oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=7259 ) The company presently occupying the building runs a business "supplying and distributing motor parts".

Elmfield Mill, Back Lane, Bramley, Leeds
Deeds for these premises date back to 1688 although know one is really sure when it was built. Part of the premises contain a stone with the inscription, "Wm TURNER and Haner, his wife, A.D. 1732," and most probably hand-loom weaving was carried on at that time. The mill has been worked by various firms, including Messrs. R.& I. GAUNT (1864), A. HOYLE, P. HARRAP, J. LISTER, J.H. WALKER, Ltd., J. BROWN, FARRAR, WILSON, and A.Smith. It was once named Lister's High Mill to differentiate it from Lister's Low Mill, at Hough End, which was also worked by J. LISTER. The mill, which possesses a unique telescopic chimney, was taken by Arthur SMITH in 1901 and was at first sublet, but later the Elmfield Mill Manufacturing Company began to manufacture vicunas, worsteds and serges.
